Werf-brief no. 01 - September 2026

A year on the Pansierstraat

Thursday 8 October, from 5pm. We're marking our first year on the Pansierstraat, and you're welcome to bring someone along.

Better late than never

The studio opened last September. We meant to throw a proper opening, and somehow never got round to it: there was always someone who'd rather train. So we're making up for it now.

What changed in a year

It started with an empty room. Twelve months on, it's the place people build their week around. More trainers came in, the programme grew, and the approach didn't budge: work out what your body can take before you ask more of it.

That's what De Werf is about. Whether you're here for physical training, for injury recovery, or because stress and overload have caught up with you, it starts with working out what's actually going on. We wrote about that in load and capacity.

How the evening goes

Doors open at five. There'll be a short thank-you, a quick look back and rather more looking forward. We'll wind up around eight, though if everyone's still enjoying themselves we'll happily stay on.

It's drinks, not a session. Nothing to bring, nothing to prove.

If it's been a while

Not training at De Werf at the moment? The invitation stands all the same. And there's something else.

You've got an hour of training on us, on your own or with someone in tow. We start with a baseline check: not just your weight, but strength, mobility, blood pressure and whatever else a modern set of scales cares to tell you. After a long break that can sting a bit. You'll find out where you stand, not what you're doing wrong.

Book it for October or November. A call, an email or a message to Ian is all it takes: 06 81 91 14 33 or ian@werf.fit.

Coming on 8 October?

Let us know you're coming and how many you'll be, so we can make sure there's enough to go round.
