Injury recovery
From complaint to strength
Recovering from an injury takes more than just rest or a set of exercises. At De Werf, we look at the root cause of the issue and at what you need to regain confidence in your body. Step by step, without any pressure to perform, we build strength, mobility and rhythm. At your own pace, with careful guidance.
At De Werf, we understand that injury recovery is a personal journey that goes beyond physical exercises alone. Our goal is not only to help you recover, but to give you the tools and insights to come back stronger. With a holistic approach, we focus on the cause of your symptoms and what you specifically need to fully trust your body again. Together, we take the step from complaint to strength.
More than just rehabilitation
We believe that real recovery starts with insight: into your load capacity, your movement patterns and the context in which your symptoms arose. Our approach is calm, rhythmic and personal - so you don't just recover, but come back stronger.
Your recovery. Your rhythm
Every injury is unique - just like every body. We work without standard protocols, but with structure, expertise and attention. We combine physical activation with behavioural insight and contextual coaching where needed. That way, recovery lasts - not just physically, but mentally and practically too.
No pushing, just progress
Whether you're recovering from a sports injury, long-term overload or surgery: we make sure you build up safely. No pressure, no rush - just guidance that moves with what you can handle. So your confidence grows, in yourself and in your body.
Programme
How we get started together
Step 1: Intake and goals
We discuss your complaint, background and recovery goals.
Step 2: Physical screening
We map your current load capacity, mobility and stability.
Step 3: Movement analysis
We examine how you move, where tension builds up and how we can improve it.
Step 4: Programme proposal
You receive a clear plan that matches your load capacity, rhythm and goals.
How movement helps with injury recovery
Injuries call for recovery, but that doesn't always mean sitting still. By moving in a targeted, safe way, your body gets the chance to recover better and faster. We choose that active approach - with attention to what is possible.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most frequently asked questions about our personal training
Not necessarily. We’ll liaise with your physiotherapist or other healthcare professional if needed. Our approach often fits in seamlessly with standard care and helps you on your way to a full recovery.
We build up carefully and respect your limits. If symptoms return, we adjust the programme straight away. You're not on your own - we keep fine-tuning where needed.
Yes. We regularly work with people with long-term or recurring symptoms. That's exactly when our integrated approach proves valuable - because we don't just work on the symptom, but on the whole picture.
That depends on the nature of your injury and your ability to recover. Sometimes you can start light training quite soon, and sometimes it takes longer. In all cases, we’ll work together to develop a plan that’s both safe and effective.
Our support is not covered by standard healthcare reimbursements. However, we often work with therapists both within and outside the medical sector. During the initial consultation, we will discuss all options openly and transparently.
