Personal training in The Hague

Looking for a personal trainer in The Hague who sees more than a training plan? At De Werf you follow our 3R route: from reflection on where you are, to a rhythm that fits your life, to results that last. Personal training and physiotherapy sit under one roof, so your journey holds together from start to finish.

Physical training

At De Werf, a plan that fits your life comes first. We look beyond strength and fitness to what your body really needs, physically and mentally. Fat loss, building strength and a healthier body composition become points on one journey.

Your body tells a story

Reaching your goals often means breaking patterns. Sometimes those are obvious, often they sit quietly out of sight. At De Werf we look beyond muscle and fitness: we search for the root of your question, physically, mentally and in behaviour.¹ From that analysis we build a programme that truly fits you.

One journey, several goals

Fat loss, building strength, body recomposition and a healthier body composition are not separate products at De Werf. They are points on one journey, shaped around your goal, your rhythm and your capacity to recover. Together we decide where the focus lies and build a single route that connects these goals, rather than training them in isolation. We will soon write in more detail about body recomposition, body fat percentage and visceral fat, so you also understand the numbers behind your programme.

Building a solid foundation

Whether you are just starting out or have trained for years, our approach meets your situation, your recovery pace and your ambitions. With attention, rhythm and clear feedback we make sure you do not just move, but genuinely progress. Lasting, well-founded and personal. Personal training and physiotherapy sit under one roof, so your journey holds together from start to finish.

A real example from our practice

Not long ago, a woman came to us with a senior role and a CV to be proud of. She wanted to become more explosive, stronger in her body. During the intake something else surfaced: years of pushing on, little room for herself, a mind that would not switch off at night. We did not start training harder. We started teaching her body to switch between on and off again. The strength followed by itself.

Step 4: Programme proposal

You receive a concrete proposal that fits your goals, rhythm and recovery pace.

Physical training takes more than movement

At De Werf you don't just walk into a gym. You step into a journey that starts with your context, your story and your rhythm. Physical training is part of a broader route to calm, control and results. How do we do that? Read in this blog why our guidance works differently from what you are used to - and why that is exactly what makes the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about our personal training

No, quite the opposite. Our programmes are designed for people at every stage of their physical development – whether you’re just starting out, recovering from an injury or have been training for years. We tailor everything to your current fitness level and goals.

At De Werf, we look beyond muscle building or fitness. We start with a thorough assessment, physical screening and behavioural analysis. Your programme is always holistic, rhythmic and personalised – with a focus on recovery, workload and underlying patterns.

That depends on where you’re starting from, your goals and your pace. Our focus is on lasting change, not a quick fix. Many clients find they have more energy, a clearer sense of direction and greater body awareness within a few weeks — but we always proceed at your own pace.

Yes, absolutely. We often work with people who have been struggling with physical problems or relapses for some time. Thanks to our screening and gradual build-up, we can train safely without putting too much strain on the body. If necessary, we’ll consult with your healthcare professional.

The cost depends on the type of programme and the frequency of support sessions. During the initial consultation, you will receive a clear, tailor-made proposal – with no obligation.
