A healthy relationship with food starts with you
Ian van der Werf
29 November 2025Healthy eating isn't about being strict, denying yourself things or 'starting over' time and again. It's about choosing food that nourishes your body and enriches your life. At De Werf we don't see nutrition as a regime, but as part of a sustainable lifestyle.
From obligation to nourishment
Many people think healthy eating equals perfection or a strict diet. But that is not the road to lasting change. Healthy eating simply means: giving your body what it needs to function well, feel energetic and stay in balance - without running yourself into the ground.
Eat what nourishes you (not what merely fills you)
Focus on fresh, nutritious products. Not because of rules, but out of awareness. By gradually replacing processed products high in sugar, fat and salt with nutritious alternatives, you literally give your body better building blocks.
That doesn't mean it has to be boring. On the contrary: the art is to bring together taste, convenience and health. Sometimes that means experimenting with new ingredients or preparing familiar favourites differently - and that's okay.
It's a process, not a sprint
Learning healthy eating habits takes time. Don't expect perfection, but do expect progress. There will be moments when it's harder - that's part of it. What counts is that you keep coming back to your intention: looking after yourself in a way that suits you.
Don't do it alone
Change is easier with support. Whether that comes from friends, family or a coach: you don't have to reinvent the wheel. At De Werf we're happy to help with practical tools, insight into your patterns and above all: guidance without judgement.
Would you like more calm in your eating habits?
A healthy relationship with food doesn't require a strict plan, but conscious choices that fit your life. We think along with you - without judgement, with structure and attention.
